Harvard Education Program
Following CSA members through a week of education at Harvard University.
About the film
The Chief of Staff Association offers unparalleled education opportunities for its members. There is no place where that is better demonstrated than through their relationships with both Harvard and Oxford Universities.
At both of these prestigious institutions, the CSA runs a week-long education program designed specifically for Chiefs of Staff. During its first run at Harvard University, we were invited to capture the week and give the audience a sneak peek behind the curtain. The end goal of the film was to encourage people to join future cohorts as they embarked on this educational experience of a lifetime.
In order to capture this, we, along with the CSA, identified several individuals who would be participating throughout the week. We then constructed the narrative around them and their experience. Through a series of daily interviews (brief for the sake of not stealing the focus away from why they were there) we explored what they were doing and learning as well as how they felt about their time as a whole. Their insights were further coloured in by words from the faculty as well as from the CEO of the CSA.
The nature of this project meant we had to be light on our feet, with only a two man crew used throughout the duration. Part of the experience of filming at Harvard was the strict rules we had to follow regarding privacy and where we could and could not film. We worked together with the Harvard team to create a seamless week and ran into no issues.
The resulting film brings you along for the ride, getting to see what an incredible week it was at the beautiful Harvard University and how it was truly a career altering experience for many of them (a fact they never fail to share with me every time I see one of them!).
This film was created under the company 50 Kal Communications under Dieter Kahsnitz, which is now operating as Peaks Film Co under Michael Peacock.
