About the project

As a part of their offering to electricians, PIXIE had created training videos designed to help teach people about their products and apps, instructing them on use cases and some of the nuances around how to use them.

PIXIE engaged us to provide an update for those training videos and in many cases, create more.

What resulted was the creation of 42 training films, professionally captured using 3 different angles, with a complete overhaul of the graphics and delivery method, designed by us to engage the viewer and provide them the most information as possible.

Because we wanted this to look as clean as possible, I drove up from Melbourne with all my gear so that I wasn’t limited by what I could bring on a plane. Arriving late in the afternoon, we got to work straight away, setting everything up so that we could film all 42 videos in one day.

Now, would I recommend to just anyone that we try and film that much in one day? Absolutely not - in fact, it was my recommendation that we do it over 2! But these guys are professionals - they know their stuff. They absolutely smashed out the filming, barely needing a second take. What legends.

Back in Melbourne, we got stuck into the edit. Like I mentioned, we did a complete overhaul of the graphics, creating bespoke tags and animations. Prior to this, there wasn’t much of a brand guidelines to speak of, so, once again in collaboration with Katya Design (https://www.katyadesign.com.au/) we were able to redesign their entire brand guidelines to bring it on par with the quality of the product.

And the quality speaks for itself! Recently rolled out, the training videos are now being used by tradies Australia wide.
